Tried, try again…

Filed under: Uncategorized — stevemryan @ 12:39 am

I don’t have to work overtime this weekend and that is a good thing.  I found time to continue my 1914-1916 Tourney and the match-up features the National League’s 1915 Pittsburgh Pirates against the 1915 Newark Pepper of the Federal League.  My first attempt was 4-4 going into the bottom of the 9th inning and I did something wrong and lost my game file.

The problem stemmed from a pinch-hitter situation and then inserting a pitcher for the pinch-hitter.  The spot in the order was the previous pitcher and I wasn’t trying anything fancy like a double switch.  The benches are very weak and I guess this is because there were 24 teams counting the Federal League instead of just the National and American Leagues.

I had done something similar in the 4th inning, but had auto backup saving the game every half inning.  That error was happened when I did something, but was able to recover and then recreate the inning.  When I restarted the game, I didn’t reset the auto-save feature and lost my game.  User Error!

I restarted the game with same lineups and Newark won 3-0.  I expect to play Game Two tomorrow.

So, when I figure this out more, I will post some stats beyond box scores.  Slowly, but surely, I am figuring this out!

There's a fine line between visionary and wrong. Unfortunately, it takes a visionary to see it.
