I may be getting better, but it is baby steps…

19 Inning thriller closed out the series for Cleveland 5-4.  The game was fun to score, especially since I had my usual problems the least of which was moving the active cell  to the screen since my laptop screen is considerably smaller than my desktop.  I use the laptop because I play the game on a 4’x2′ folding table with my desktop behind me.  I like the way the setup works, but when/if I get a dice tower then I might have to make some changes.  My desktop easily displays 29 innings while the laptop only shows 16 innings or so.

The best part of the game came in the bottom of the 10th inning.  Brooklyn scored three in the top of the 3rd with Cleveland getting one back in the bottom of the fourth.  The Brooklyn team stretched the lead back to three with one in the top of the 7th.  Cleveland tied it with three in the bottom of the 8th.  The game moved to extra innings and Cleveland led off with two singles and a stolen base in the bottom of the 10th inning.  With runners on 2nd and 3rd and no one out, Brooklyn pitcher Wheezer Dell struck out the next three batters to send the game to the 11th frame.

Tris Speaker led off the 19th with a single and a stolen base.  Braggo Roth promptly ended the game with a sharp single to score Speaker and Cleveland moved to the 2nd Round with a thrilling 5-4 win.  Fred Beebe got the win while Sherry Smith took the loss.  The 1916 Cleveland team will host the 1915 Cleveland squad.  That should be a good matchup with the ’16 squad seeded 41st and the ’15 squad seeded 56th.

I have no idea how the boxscore works.  I messed something up and I may have to consult the forums for help.  Only 2 runs were recorded as allowed by Brooklyn and 4 were recorded as allowed by Cleveland.  The game took so long, I can’t really remember what I did.

The game was exciting and I am making progress as I work through the first round.  Life is good!

There's a fine line between visionary and wrong. Unfortunately, it takes a visionary to see it.
