Champion Crowned…

Filed under: Uncategorized — stevemryan @ 4:19 am

OK, this isn’t the mammoth 64-team tournament I have been playing with American, Federal & National League teams from 1914-16.  This was my single elimination tourney between the four teams that come with the APBA Baseball basic game.

The Championship game had Washington hosting the Giants..  Madison Bumgarner faced Gio Gonzalez.  In what ended up being a low scoring affair, the Nationals prevailed 2-1.  Gonzalez got the win with Burnett earned the save.  Bumgarner took the loss but he pitched fairly well.  He deserved better.

The key to the game was learning to apply a double switch.  Since I used the lineups that came with the game on the roster sheet, I used the double switch to upgrade the Nats defense.  Somehow I did the double switch without any problems that I saw.  I really enjoy the new boards.  Since I am getting more comfortable with the BallScore program, I may be ready to use the Advanced Defense option in the basic game.

Nothing outstanding in the game.  I like the BallScore program and maybe I can figure out the BallStat part so I can compile stats for the quick three games.  Since I don’t think I subbed much until the finals, there won’t be anything worth noting with the small sample size.  But if I get it right, then maybe I can compile bigger sets of data.  That should be interesting, to say the least.

Life is good!

There's a fine line between visionary and wrong. Unfortunately, it takes a visionary to see it.
