Another good game…

Filed under: Uncategorized — stevemryan @ 3:13 am

The 1914 New York Yankees held on to beat the 1915 Pittsburgh Rebels 3-2.  Fisher got the win for the Yankees while Caldwell got the save and Allen took the loss for the Rebels.

The only excitement for the game was me trying to figure out a substitution error for the Rebels.  I rolled a passed ball to advance runners from 1st & 2nd to 2nd & 3rd.  I accidentally thought the pitcher was up, but it was actually the catcher in the eighth spot.  The catcher, Berry, had a sub .300 OBP and down three runs a pinch-hitter was justified.  I brought in a PH who had a .400 OBP then rolled back-to-back 66s.  The starting catcher would have had a HR, but the sub only got a triple.  Not a big deal since the pitcher was due up and I pinch-hit for him as well.  The PH made an out the the Rebels ended up not scoring more than the two runs on the triple.

I was able to figure out how to do two subs after restarting the program and restoring the saved scoresheet.  The Yankees starter, Fisher (BY) was pitching well, but Caldwell (AYZ) wasn’t scheduled to start either of the next two games and I brought him on to close out the game.

I believe I handled the options in the BallScore Program properly.  That is just a testimony to my experience gained from a multitude of previous mistakes.  Anyway, the 45th seeded Yankees beat the 20th Seeded Rebels in a good game.

And there is a fly in here and I believe he has a death wish or he wouldn’t be frequently landing in my vicinity.  Flies are only good for swatting practice.  I am not taking the Karate Kid chopstick challenge!  Once the fly has passed on, Life will again be good!

There's a fine line between visionary and wrong. Unfortunately, it takes a visionary to see it.
