I saw an old friend this morning at church.  He works in a ministry overseas and is relocating this fall.  I don’t get to see him very often.  When I saw him, his first statement was a question about seeing Tim Lincecum toss a no-hitter last night.  I explained that I had listened to the Giants Friday game on Saturday morning, but I hadn’t heard the Saturday game yet.  This afternoon I watched it and Jon Miller was as excited about it as any of the Giant’s players.  Great game!

While watching the Giant’s game, I continued my tournament.  The 3rd seeded 1914 Boston Braves played the 62nd seeded 1915 Baltimore Terrapins of the Federal League.  The Braves swept the A’s in the 1914 World Series, but that was not the case today.  The Terrapins won 2-1 behind the pitching of Jack Quinn (CYZ).  Bill James (AY) pitched well for the Braves allowing only 5 hits, but the two runs hurt and one was unearned.  Quinn scattered 11 hits.  The odd thing was when he advanced from grade C to B (after 6 shutout innings as a Grade C), he allowed a hit to the first batter he faced.  That result number (9) would have been an out had he remained a C.  As in the actual game, YCPB – You can’t predict baseball!

It was great watching Tiny Tim’s no-hitter while rolling a 62 seed outscore a 3 seed.  Both games ended about the same time so they climaxed together.  That made it even better, especially with the narration by Jon Miller.

Earlier today, I listed a couple of my duplicate APBA Baseball card sets on the Delphi Forum.  The cards have been written on, but the sets are complete and even include the XBs.  I am asking $52 total with $12 of the cost being shipping and handling.  I feel that is a fair price.  I thought about listing them on eBay, but want to get rid of them quickly and would rather not wait out a bidding process that may ultimately yield more money.  We shall see.  Life is good!

There's a fine line between visionary and wrong. Unfortunately, it takes a visionary to see it.
