2013 to 1961 to 1915 & 1914…

So it is 2013 and I am watching a movie about 1961 called 61* while I am playing a game between teams from 1915 & 1914.  Today’s match-up features the 27th seeded 1915 Kansas City Packers against the 38th seeded 1914 St Louis Browns.  Both teams were terrible fielders at Fielding Three (32 & 31, respectively), but they both had their best pitcher going.  Nick Cullop (AZ) started for the Packers against the Browns’ Zeke Weilman (AZ).  The Browns won 5-2 in a fairly close game.  The Packers scored first to go up 1-0 but the Browns answered to make it 2-1.  The Packers then tied it 2-2 and later the Browns won 5-2 on the power of Gus Williams’ 2-run homer.  Tilly Walker also had two stolen bases for the Browns.

Both starters went the distance and the Packers had the tying run at the plate when the last out was made in the top of the ninth inning.  Good game and the Packers have to win two more to avoid getting knocked out of the tournament.

There's a fine line between visionary and wrong. Unfortunately, it takes a visionary to see it.
