Sometimes I am just slow to figure things out…

Filed under: Uncategorized — stevemryan @ 3:10 am

In my earlier posts of my APBA games, I have used Ballstat/Ballscore to score my games.  I had installed the program on my 64-bit AMD Computer.  My brother previously worked for a business that did computer type work and he was able to install Windows 7 Ultimate on the laptop because the original OS was Vista.  The computer crashed often and I could only blame Vista OS.  I recently discovered that the Windows 7 Ultimate OS was the 32-bit version.  Apparently this was an issue with the Ballstat/Ballscore program.  That was the source of my problems with the program.

My current job has a profit-sharing program and I used my recent share of the profit to buy a new windows machine.  The OS on this machine is Windows 8.1.  Ballstat/Ballscore works wonderfully on my new machine.  When I make a mistake the ‘Undo’ function works well.  Since my previous experience wasn’t the best, I have also learned to go slowly.  Ballstat/Ballscore is my newest reason to have a computer.  Baseball for Windows version 5.75 is still my Number One reason to have a computer.  BBW 5.75 is a very affordable $20 + S&H and Ballstat/Ballscore is $Free.  There is a bit of a learning curve, but it is well worth it to me because I enjoy my Card & Dice Baseball Board Games and my games of choice are from the APBA family of games.  I mainly play the Baseball game, but I also have the Football, Soccer, Golf, Hockey, Saddle Racing and even the Basketball games.  BBW is the computer version of the APBA Baseball game.

APBA Games are available from apbagames.com while Ballstat/Ballscore is available from ballstat.com for free.  I recommend both and can even help if there are any questions.

There's a fine line between visionary and wrong. Unfortunately, it takes a visionary to see it.
