1916 Chicago Cubs @ 1916 St Louis Browns – April 28, 2023: Game 1

The two teams held each other in check until the Cubs loaded the bases in the top of eight. Heinie Zimmerman knocked a bases-loaded double for his second, third, and fourth runs batted in for the day. Both pitchers tossed complete games. Eddie Plank was the tough luck loser for the Browns allowing four earned on six hits, five walks, and whiffing one. Hippo Vaughn allowed one earned on four hits and three walks while fanning six.
