The ’14 A’s scored early and often as Chief Bender went nine allowing three earned on eight hits with one walk and six K’s. Eddie Collins went four-for-five with a walk, two runs knocked in, two stolen bases, and one run scored. Stuffy McGinnis went four-for six scoring twice, knocking in two, and stealing one. The score would have been much worse, but the ’15 A’s turned two double plays to go with one triple play.
The ’14 A’s are a win away from facing the 1914 Chicago Cubs in the next round.
